About Laura
Laura Tryon was born an artist.

From her earliest memories of finger-painting on a highchair tray with pea-green baby food, Laura has continually sought new ways of indulging her fascination for the romance between color with texture.

Through some cosmic glitch, Laura was born and raised in a small town in the Midwest. It was a daunting beginning for a sensitive ocean-loving soul, but she survived it, and immediately after graduating college, traveled the world in search of beaches, adventure, and a place she could paint the way she wanted to paint. She came home to California in 1989 and has vowed to never leave the most beautiful, vibrant place on Earth.

Through her art, Laura offers the viewer a chance to see what goes unseen by most people. From sea creatures hidden beneath ocean waves, to silent Buddha-sentries in Far East temples, to the cave paintings of Lascaux and Algeria, Laura believes there's a type of beauty in this world that one must slow way down to truly see. Slow down, look closely, and wait for it to reveal itself.
Her passion as an artist is to live the majority of her days in that slow place, to find those hidden gems, and to bring them out for the world to experience through her artistic endeavors.
